Pomp And Power (Vercingetorix), the talented Cape racer retired to Heversham Park by his owners midway through 2023, has settled down beautifully on the farm after being uncertain of his new surroundings for several weeks.
Heversham’s Kat Riley told: “Pomp and Power was wound up when he was in his own paddock. So to get him to calm down we put him in the pony camp. He now has three ‘best friends’ in (daughter) Elektra’s ponies from whom he has become inseperable.
“He is a different horse now, really calm and happy!”
Pomp and Power won five races, including the G1 Cape Derby, and finished second in the Daily News and third in the Cape Met.
