“Tranquil and Majestic…”

TRANQUIL Heversham Park Farm is affectionately referred to as ‘the farm’. The Farm is located in the scenic unspoilt Daleside Valley, just south of Johannesbuburg, and is overlooked by the majestic Paardekop.

Our water supply comes from a natural spring, which is high in calcium and other minerals, ensuring that all animals (and humans!) that are raised on the farm are healthy. The farm can trace its origins back to the turn of the previous century and it has an ethos of raising animals slowly and naturally.

Heversham Park, under the guidance of seasoned horseman, Advocate Nigel Riley, is being developed as a thoroughbred stud farm and boarding facility. We house four resident stallions in Pomodoro (SAF), Moofeed (AUS), Jackson (SAF) and Time Thief (AUS).

Presently, 70 selected mares are resident on the farm, freely roaming in and enjoying our safe fertilized paddocks.

The farm, which is in excess of 350 acres, consists of numerous large post and rail paddocks, all of which have natural spring water piped in.  We also have large irrigated and naturally fertilized lucerne and eragrostis lands, which enable us to monitor the quality of the forage supplied to our horses.

We are well aware that we are situated outside the present popular breeding areas of South Africa.  This situation, together with our acknowledgment and understanding of the current financial difficulties being experienced by breeders, has led to us designing the following three unique programmes/subsidies.

(a) Travel assistance for mares based out of Gauteng;

(b) A 50% rebate on all stallion fees for filly foals;

(c) The Heversham Park Farm plus 30 breeders bonus, whereby the breeder of any two-year old winner will be eligible HPF stallion will receive a R30 000 cash payment upon the two-year old’s first win.”
