Heversham Park purchased a William Longsword filly from the close family of Vercingetorix at the recent Cape Ready To Run and Unbroken Two-Year-Old Sale at Durbanville. She was knocked down for only R90,000 which we consider a ‘steal’ on her pedigree alone. See it here.
As yet unnamed, she is a lovely chestnut with substance of whom breeder John Koster said: “She’s by a champion sire in the making out of one of South Africa’s great female lines. She has immense paddock value to start.”
While Koster is fully correct and she will be a great addition to our broodmake paddocks one day, this filly has a racing career ahead of her first. She wll be trained at Turffontein by Tony Peter. All is well, and early reports are promising.
