Siyanda Sosibo, our sponsored apprentice in Gauteng, rode a peach of a race on Godswood for trainer Barend Botes, to win a Pinnacle Stakes over 1160m at Turffontein on Sunday, 7 May, from Maharanee and Supreme Warrior.
This was Siyanda’s first win carrying our brand, following a win by our KZN sponsored apprentice, Siphesihle Hlengwa, last week.
This was a strong and competitive field with blistering pace and Siyanda showed his cool and judgement of pace, coming from off the pace. He received praise for his ride from on-course presenter Lyall Cooper, and the stable’s connections.
Siyanda, who beamed from ear to ear, has been booked for a few more decent rides for the next couple of meetings and we wish him well.
