Nice debut for Capulet’s Heart

HEVERSHAM Park Bred Capulet’s Heart was up-and-coming trainer Nathan Kotzen’s only buy at the 2019 National Yearling Sale, and it looks like this R50,000 yearling will turn out to be a shrewd pick.

Capulet’s Heart, by Toreador, was green first time out on the Polytrack at Greyville on Wednesday, and finished 5.60-lengths in fifth behind Eye Catching.

She was in touch, then appeared to lose touch before running on again and Kotzen said: “There was some kickbackm, she dropped the bit and then came on again before tiring late. We were pleased with her first time. She’s quite a quick filly and we’ll be looking for a suitable sprint for her. She will come on with the experience.”

Capulet’s Heart’s dam, First Again won eight races, including the Gr2 Ipi Tombe Challenge, and was Gr1 placed. She has produced a winner from three foals and is bound to throw something special.
