HEVERSHAM Park-bred Herodotus continues to acquit himself with distinction in good company. He ran a game second to Balgarion in Saturday’s Gr2 Peninsula Handicap on Queen’s Plate Day at Kenilworth, bringing his earnings to just under R400,000, not bad for a 170k buy.
Said Nigel Riley of Heversham Park Farm: “This was an excellent week for us with two Gr2 places, we are pleased!
There was a quick echo: “What a great L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate weekend! Our string was well represented as our stable star Herodtus ran a brilliant 2nd in the Gr2 Glorious Goodwood Peninsula Handicap!,” tweeted Justin Vermaak of Green Street International, who own the grey.
