De Gaulle has the right credentials

DE Gaulle is an unraced Heversham Park-bred two-year-old by Ascot Stud’s stallion Global View (Gallileo), whose first two runners have both won impressively first time out.

Justin Vermaak of Green Street International bought De Gaulle for only R70,000 at the 2019 BSA National Yearling Sale – he’s a half-brother to our Gr1-placed Herodotus (Trippi) and Vermaak was never going to let this one out of his sight.

De Gaulle is in training with Glen Kotzen, who said: “He’s a lovely colt and we got him for a steal. He’s light-framed and athletic, quite immature and will take a bit of time, but he’s doing really well and improving every day!”

We look forward to seeing De Gaulle at the track in 2020, we’re hoping he can match or better the achievements of Herodotus.

Their dam, Pinkyandthebrain, has since produced a beautiful filly by Admiral’s Kitten (Kitten’s Joy), also doing well on the farm with us.
