Battle Of Alesia wins for new owners

HEVERSHAM Park-bred two-year-old Battle Of Alesia made a smooth exit from the Maiden ranks when winning a Maiden Plate over 1600m at the Vaal on Thursday, 4 July.

Battle Of Alesia quickened well to beat older horses and while he loafed a bit when getting to the front, a good future is predicted.

Both jockey Warren Kennedy and trainer Paul Peter predicted that Battle Of Alesia will come into his own as an older horse and Peter reckons he will see out 2400.

Battle Of Alesia was bought by Larry Nestadt for a syndicate of Tawny syndicate executives including Jeff Shill, David Abromowitz and JJ van der Linden.

He is by Vercingetorix from Fortification (Fort Wood), who has a Soft Falling Rain foal on the ground and a Wings Of Desire in her belly.
