YOUNG trainer Darryl Moore places his horses very well and he enjoyed another success with Heversham Park and Fred Brons’s runner Golden Pheasant at a wet Greyville on Sunday, 9 December.
Golden Pheasant raced in a MR80 Handicap under Stuart Randolph, as handy as could be on the sloppy track. They took over with 250m to go and fought best of all, winning well and earning a rating of 80 (three points up), which may still put him ahead of the handicapper.
“Thanks to the owners for their patience, Golden Pheasant had a few niggles early on and they allowed me time,” said 29-year-old Moore, who is producing the goods with a small string.
Golden Pheasant is by Antonius Pius from Kokkewiet, by Elliodor, and was bred by Riethuiskraal.
