The Equator goes through his gears!

The Equator (IRE), ante-post favourite for the 2025 R6-million Betway Summer Cup on 29 November, turned in a fine piece of track work at Turffontein on Wednesday, 12 November.

The Equator galloped on the sand track and trainer Tony Peter reported: “He went through his gears nicely. He is very well and all is on target for the big race.”

Willem Ackerman and Advocate Nigel Riley’s imported Galileo stallion prospect has showcased his talent with two impressive wins from three South African starts, the latest on 26 October described as “a well-paid exercise gallop.”

Purchased at the Tattersalls Sale at Newmarket in 2024, he is a half-brother to the 2024 Gr1 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Lake Victoria (Frankel).
