Heversham Park Stud has four, beautifully bred fillies on offer at this year’s Bloodstock SA National Yearling Sale. Remarkably, they were all sired by Grade 1 winning stallions, and all four were produced by stakes-winning mares.
Heversham upgraded their broodmare band with a number of black-type mares from various auctions in recent years and their investment is starting to produce the kind of quality buyers are looking for. Safe to say, the fillies on offer all have pedigrees that guarantees paddock value.
Soqrat filly, Lot 74
Triple G1 winner, and Equus Champion, Soqrat is the sire of a full-sister (Lot 74) to the useful Jordash, and she’s a half-sister to the smart performers Kalahari Ferrari and Karate Kid. This well-bred filly, whose first two dams are both stakes winners, is out of dual G3 Sycamore Sprint winner Kinematic Countess (Count Du Bois), and she moves very well.
Digital Age filly, Lot 149
Invincible Spirit’s G1 winning son Digital Age is represented in this draft by a filly (Lot 149) who is bred to be anything. A half-sister to Listed Michael Roberts Stakes winner Gentleman’s Wager, this filly is out of the Var-sired G2 Gold Circle Oaks winner Princess Of Light, a half-sister to the Oaks winners Arcola and Ash Cloud.
Twice Over filly, Lot 155
The four-time G1 winning Twice Over, whose son See It Again won this season’s G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met and the Premiers Champion Challenge, sired Lot 155, out of G3 Champagne Stakes winner Purple Orchid. This filly hails from the same female line as the successful sire Russian Fox.
Danon Platina filly, Lot 323.
Last, but not least, is a filly (Lot 323) by Japanese champion Danon Platina out of the high-class race mare Bold Fortune. A daughter of emerging leading broodmare sire Flower Alley, Bold Fortune won six races including the G2 World Sports Betting Ipi Tombe Challenge and G3 Yellowwood Handicap, while earning more than R620 000 in prize money.
There will be no VAT payable on purchases made from Heversham – another reason to visit the team and view their ‘fabulous four’ in Stable Block A at the TBA Complex.
