WE are looking forward to the 2019 breeding season in which our stallions Wings Of Desire (Pivotal, GB) and Moofeed (Duke Of Marmalade, AUS), will both be getting good mare support.
Wings Of Desire (headline photo) already has in excess of 40 high quality mares booked. They include 3 Gr1 winners, 3 classic-winning mares, 1 runner-up in the Durban July, 6 Graded winners, 4 sisters to Gr1 winners, 10 sisters to other Graded winners, 2 mares produced by Gr1 winners and 12 produced by other Graded winners.
“We’re bucking the trend, giving Wings Of Desire as a Gauteng stallion a good chance with good mares, and we’re expecting a few more mares to come along,” said Heversham Park owner, Nigel Riley.
Moofeed has over 30 mares booked, a number that will grow considering his own sire Duke Of Marmalade’s ongoing success in South Africa. That Moofeed is his sire’s fastest son alive is being noted by breeders and some interesting matings will follow.
“We’ve upped their exercise programme in view of the coming season, both are relaxed and doing well, doing extra walks around the farm, they will be ready for duties in September,” said Riley.
Leading photographer Candiese Marnewick visited us during the week to snap some beautiful photos, thank you!
